The past month has been a little stressful. I've been struggling with the job hunt and inability in trying to avoid the sense of uselessness. My usual day consisted of applying for jobs, playing the harmonica, and getting nagged by parents about being jobless, therefore useless. After 20+ applications, 3 interviews, and $300 spent on travels, I finally found a job.
I'll be moving to Maryland and starting in July. I can finally call myself a respiratory therapist.
My new life begins in July. For the month of June, I plan on just relaxing.
I'm going to move all the posts before this into a folder called RT school.
The new blog starts......now!

Congratulations.
I sure hope the economy is in better shape when I finish school. Job hunting is one of my least favorite things.
Congratulations and happy journey!!
I'm so happy for you. I graduate RT school in August and am not looking forward to the job hunting.

My advice to you is to start looking 6 months in advance. I honestly thought I was going to stay in Georgia. Promises were made, but nothing was written on paper.
yo dude. i am a 28 year old cystic fibrosis patient and when i go into the hospital for treatments the respiratory therapists are like my best buds. i wish you luck on your journey. on a side note-people with CF need lots of chest PT and when they are out of the hospital and get sick it can be hard to get it if they live alone or don't have anyone to do it for them. i always thought it would be a good idea for a RT to do "housecalls" for PT. lot's of things to factor in such as the spread of germs to one patient to another, but it the necessary precautions are taken then it could be a viable little business. anyways, good luck!
Congrats. Me and you have spoke and im really happy that you found a job. I wish you nothing but happiness in the field.
congrats
I just got out of high school and beginning to get my PR's done in fall so I can get into RC, I enjoyed reading your blog. Congratulations on your job! But I have a quick question, how many months did you get to be in a hospital for your class and did you get to do things on patients?
Yea. My RT school had a lot of clinical days. I basically had class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I spend Tuesdays and Thursdays at the hospital starting with the second semester. 5 Semesters total.
Did you go to a B.S. program at a university with an RT program or just a dedicated RT program? I ask because my daughter is in a university setting and will graduate with a B.S. in Biology and an RT. I've heard that getting hired with a degree and certification is easier. What hospital in Baltimore, there are so many.
